The floating ship speaker comes in a shimmering box with Disney Cruise Line’s 25th Anniversary logo in silver. It is worth noting for post-cruise travel plans, especially those with luggage restrictions, the box measures approximately 13″ x 9.5″ x 7.5″ and weights about 5 pounds. You can now pre-order the Disney Cruise Line Floating Ship Wireless Speaker through onboard gifts.

At this time, I am unable to get any additional information on the availability of the speaker. I cannot imagine the allotment of floating ship wireless speakers are sold out. Primarily because I don’t see any listed for sale for 8x the price the popular auction site. I keep checking Disney Cruise Line’s onboard gifts and amenities page for an option to pre-purchase, but nothing yet. Time will tell when these beauties will will actually be available.

Pump some spooky tunes with the Pumpkin King – Jack Skellington. Inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and just in time for the holidays. This FREE guide shows you everything you need to know to find your perfect cruise line. Any technology like this is bought on board at your own risk. I always suggest that anything of value or anything that could break, such as a speaker, is taken in your hand luggage.

I emailed the Miami based novelty company who made the speakers, but have not heard back. Who knows, there may be a follow-up article where I take the speaker into dry dock to fix it myself. The FCC documentation has a nice little teardown of the speaker as a guide. Not sure why people think that others want to listen to their music several balconies down. We always use headphones if we are listening to music or watching a video.

We like our SnugPak Jungle Bag that unzips to a great beach blanket, but there are a ton of lightweight, compact options for a beach blanket. This is especially nice when Castaway Cay is wet and/or cold on the day you’re in port. This one seems so simple, but a lot of people forget.
Ever wondered how the mainstream cruise lines compare? The speaker is called Zoe, she is a personal assistant who is meant to do a lot more than just being a speaker, but in my experience, she is best used as a speaker. If at all possible, make sure that the balcony cabin door is closed when the Bluetooth speaker is in use. The cruise line can confiscate your speaker if you are disturbing other guests. Inside the box is a fold out user guide with the following friendly note for guest choosing to use this speaker during the cruise. Unless the crew were deaf they saw and heard the speakers, they just don't care to do anything about it.
On the majority of cruises, it’s unlikely that you’ll notice the other guests at all when standing on your balcony. The guidelines and restrictions mentioned in this post also apply to portable speakers which are not Bluetooth-connected. I think it was our last cruise, like 2 years ago maybe? Music wasn't offensive but i was sorta like "really, dude?" i guess some people care and some don't. Many cruise passengers have questions about bringing power strips and portable hotspots on cruises. On occasion, guests do try to use speakers in public spaces.
Guests sailing on cruises that are NOT Silver Anniversary at Sea sailings will receive the standard Disney Cruise Line wireless ship speaker. The doors on board the Disney Cruise ships are metal. Many guests like to decorate their stateroom doors.

I've been on cruises where people blast their speakers, especially on balconies. If you’re a coffee lover, this is a great item to take on board with you. Bring your own coffee (but be aware, you won’t be able to take any off the ship due to Customs laws) and use this handy, easy to clean coffee press to get great coffee while cruising. These are wonderful for protecting your electronics from the sea and “liquid sunshine” (rain) when off the ship.
Be sure you also use it constantly on the ship and at ports of call. We bring this along to Castaway Cay to listen to some Jimmy Buffet, while lounging on the beach. Even in the summer months, the wind while at sea can be brisk and chilly. I almost always wear a light jacket or sweater during dinner. The air-conditioning can be quite cold in the restaurants, too.
When embarking on a cruise, the cruise line will usually take your suitcase and the next place you will see it is in your cabin. I’d strongly suggest that the Bluetooth speaker volume is kept at the same level as the cabin’s TV on medium.
You can buy magnets from Etsy or create your own at home. When you arrive, you can then personalize your stateroom for the cruise. After going on 30+ Disney Cruises on all 4 ships, we’ve developed a good sense of what we tend to forget, what really makes a difference to bring, and what you can leave at home. This list includes those 20 things you may not think about for a typical vacation, but will want to pack for a Disney Cruise vacation. Will you add one of these one-of-a-kind speakers to your onboard gifts?
When bringing a Bluetooth speaker onboard a cruise it’s best to place the speaker inside your hand luggage. Listening to music through a Bluetooth speaker on the balcony of a cruise ship is likely to negatively affect fellow passengers. Floating ship speaker (dry dock edition) – The base looks like a Mickey ear hat with a spot for the ship to rest when out of water. This rule is obviously not being passed along to everyone, because it has become more of an issue than in the past. I prefer the sound of the sea when I am on my balcony, not someone's playlist. I don't know why people don't consider those around them. By the end of the day, the chafing situation can be BRUTAL, especially for the kids.
